Mack has a special gift in being able to reach young people and is a recognized expert on youth.

Mack Dion McGhee was born in Chicago Heights, IL and is the youngest of 4 children. McGhee worked diligently as a student at Illinois State University & Governors State University respectively where he successfully completed a Bachelors of Art Degree in Criminal Justice. He continued on to complete a Masters of Art in Political and Justice Studies.

Since that time, Mack has held numerous positions with several child welfare, human services, correctional & educational agencies in the State of Illinois, Washington D.C. & New York City to include:

  • Administrator -Aunt Martha’s Youth Services (Chicago)
  • Deputy Director – Youth Outreach Services (Chicago Cook Services)
  • Corrections Administrator – Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities & Illinois Department of Corrections Sheridan Program
  • Director of Training- Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center
  • Dean of Students- Urban Prep Academy for Young Men (Chicago)
  • Superintendent – Washington D.C. Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (New Beginnings)
  • Chief of Secure Programs- Washington D.C. Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (New Beginnings & Youth Service Centers)
  • Consultant – National Partnership for Juvenile Services (New York City Project)

In the last 29 years he has worked in various capacities dedicated to the goal of empowering, encouraging and motivating youth and individuals to succeed — no matter their circumstance. He is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer, author and consultant and has spoken to thousands of individuals throughout the nation.

Mack has a special gift in being able to reach young people and is a recognized expert on youth. As a consultant in this area, he has worked with universities and agencies on numerous research-based projects that focus on children and youth.

Mack is Past President of the award-winning Homewood-Flossmoor Toastmasters Club 1451 where in 2006 he won the International Speech Contest for the Club, Area, and South Division of District 30. Mack is the proud father to a beautiful 19-year-old named Maya Simone who is a student at Howard University, and Mack is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
